Q. What are the bank details?

CAMA Zending

3971 KB Driebergen-Rijsenburg
IBAN= NL89 INGB 0000309400
BIC= INGBNL2A
marked “Kieviet Projects”.

Q. How can I financially contribute?

There are several ways to financially contribute to the work:

  1. Give a single donation to the work. Donations can be transferred to CAMA Zending; Hoofdstraat 55 3971 KB Driebergen-Rijsenburg. IBAN: NL89 INGB 0000 3094 00 BIC: INGB NL2A marked “Kieviet Projects”.
  2. Consider a regular donation. For us it is the easiest if you give CAMA permission to withdraw the money from your account. (Only for contributors with a Dutch bank account) You can stop this at any moment, and you can claim the money back at your bank when you don’t agree with the withdrawal.
  3. It is also possible to manually transfer a regular gift. You can use the above mentioned bank account. To keep track of the finances we would appreciate it if you would inform our treasurer Aart Ketelaar (treasurer@kieviet.org) when and what you are going to support.

Q. How can I transfer money from the United States?

Giving from the US is possible in various ways by making a tax deductible donation to the C&MA marked “Senegal-work special Kieviet”

  1. By Visa or Mastercard through the website: https://secure.cmalliance.org/give/
  2. By sending a check to:

    The Christian and Missionary Alliance
    Office of Donor Accounting
    8595 Explorer Dr
    Colorado Springs, CO 80920

    Please make sure that all checks are made payable to “The Christian and Missionary Alliance.” Indicate that you would like your gift distributed to us by noting “Senegal-work special Kieviet” on the memo line.

    When you provide a check as payment, you authorize the C&MA either to use information from your check to make a one-time electronic fund transfer from your account or to process the payment as a check transaction. When they use information from your check to make an electronic fund transfer, funds may be withdrawn from your account as soon as the same day you make your donation, and you will not receive your check back from your financial institution.

    Tax receipts for offline donations are mailed within four to six weeks after the donation has been processed.

  3. By donating directly to our Dutch office, marked “Kieviet Family”:

Q. Why is CAMA involved?

It is our vision to work in Senegal for many years to come; we realize that in order to do this, we need to be a part of an organization that will support us in good and bad times. The longer we will be away, the more difficulties we will experience. CAMA has a century of experience in living and working in the tropics. We have been selected by CAMA after a very long and intensive process.

CAMA will take the responsibility for the preparation process and financial stability. We will receive our agreed monthly fee even when gifts are diminishing. If support decreases, we will work on this when we are on furlough. This will make us able to fully focus on our work when we are in Senegal. The Dutch office team keeps track of our support and manages our financial business.

Joining the CAMA team in Senegal will give us a solid foundation to work from. As living in Dakar will be challenging enough, the team will help us to get settled. Even more, working together will make our qualities emerge better.

For safety CAMA is also an important partner. They will have evacuation plans ready and will advice us when situations get tense. They will also provide us and our children with pastoral and psychological support.

All in all CAMA will lay a strong foundation for our mission.

Q. Is it not expensive to join with CAMA?

CAMA cannot function without financial support. We will support them with 6 cents for every Euro we receive. As we benefit strongly from their work and actually think that our work would not be possible without CAMA, we consider this a minor contribution.

Looking at the figures we can even state that joining CAMA is cheaper. Because donations to CAMA are tax deductible, it is possible for you to get a tax refund that is more than we contribute to CAMA.

Q. Can I transfer money my self?

Of course it is possible to transfer money yourself. You can either contribute with a single donation or a regular donation.

Gifts can be transferred to CAMA Zending; Hoofdstraat 55 3971 KB Driebergen-Rijsenburg. IBAN: NL89 INGB 0000 3094 00 BIC: INGB NL2A marked “Kieviet Projects”

To keep track of the finances we would appreciate it if you would inform our treasurer Aart Ketelaar (treasurer@kieviet.org) when and what you are going to support.

Q. Why do I have to inform the treasurer about my support?

We believe that we have to be responsible parents and responsible missionaries. This means that we will not leave the Netherlands if we already know we won’t have enough support to live in Senegal. Together with CAMA we made a solid budget. To keep track of the expected donations our treasurer needs to know how much you will support.

Q. Isn’t it lack of faith to wait with leaving until enough support is promised?

We believe that our human responsibility is not contrary to faith in God. We trust that if God want us to go and help the people in Senegal; He is also able to provide enough donors to give the financial support before we leave.

Q. What happens if I’m no longer able to support?

Together with CAMA we made a solid budget. Because we are being send out by CAMA they also take responsibility for us. We will receive our agreed monthly fee even when gifts are diminishing. If support decreases, CAMA will assign us to work on this on our furlough. This will make us able to fully focus on our work when we are in Senegal.

Q. Is life in Dakar expensive?

It is a general misconception that it is possible to live in Africa with little money. It is true that local people can manage with low incomes. However, this means that most commodities we think of as basic are unavailable to them. Good healthcare for instance is unaffordable for most people, just like good housing and education for the children. Of course we want our children to receive good schooling and we want to go to hospital if needed.

Next to this we will also have higher costs for regular living. “Special prices” for food at the market and for public transport. It is almost impossible to escape a higher price because Western people are associated with wealth and are thus charged more.

We will also make extra costs that local people not make. Think for instance of insurances, travelling costs and security.

Last but definitely not least, we hope to be able to invest in the projects we will be developing. Part of the support you will be giving, will directly be invested in local development work.

Our current expected budget will be € 3.000 per month.

Q. Is it possible to give a single donation?

Single donations are also appreciated! They can be transferred to:
CAMA Zending;
Hoofdstraat 55 3971
KB Driebergen-Rijsenburg.
IBAN (International Bank Account Number): NL89 INGB 0000 3094 00
BIC (Bank Identification Code = SWIFT): INGB NL2A
Bank: ING Bank
Address bank: P.O. Box 1800, Amsterdam
Marked “Kieviet Projects”.

Q. How much support is needed?

We have a budget of a little over € 3.000 per month. This includes daily life expenses, schooling for the children, insurances, travelling costs etc. For questions on the budget you can contact our treasurer Aart Ketelaar: treasurer@kieviet.org.
